Mission and Values

Shaping Democratic Integrity Across Borders

The mission of the Institute for Protection of Democratic Values (IPDV) is to promote and safeguard democracy, the rule of law and human dignity through dialogue, research and action.

IPDV works to unite democratic voices from different countries, political orientations and professional backgrounds under one shared purpose — the protection of democratic principles and civic freedom.

The Institute stands for:

  • Integrity in public service and decision-making
  • Equal rights and protection of human dignity
  • Independent and transparent institutions
  • Freedom of media and academic expression
  • Responsible leadership and accountability
  • Inclusion of women and youth in democratic life
  • Innovation and ethical use of technology for democracy

Our values are based on respect, dialogue and the belief that democracy can only thrive when citizens, institutions and leaders share a culture of honesty and accountability.

Through its international programs, IPDV encourages cooperation between Europe, North America and the Balkans — building democratic bridges beyond ideology, borders and partisanship.
